Classroom Policies

  1. The first fifteen minutes of class time is time dedicated to students/instructors to ask questions, transfer files, print files, etc. Class starts promptly at fifteen minutes in – students are expected to be in their seats ready to start at that time – meaning actually in their seat and ready to go.
  2. If a student is late it is very difficult to stop the class to catch them up and it is not expected of the instructor to stop the class and catch the late student up – we will do our best if the situation arises but there may be some times where the late student just has to sit, watch, take notes, and then time allowing have the T.A. sit with the student during lab time.
  3. NO food or drinks allowed in the classroom – period.
  4. The web is a vast area of expertise, but this class has a set curriculum. Please focus questions to pertain to the topics being covered. Questions that are outside the scope of the topics being dicussed will be deferred to the web.
  5. Please do not interrupt while another is talking.
  6. If you are having a hard time seeing the screen please let the T.A. know.
  7. Students are expected to do homework outside of the classroom if needed.
  8. Lab time is valuable time to review what is done in class – USE IT!
  9. Bring all materials to class – you should have all of your materials with you every day. Materials include your textbook, paper, pen, assignments, and folders.
  10. Cellular phones, beepers and other disruptive devices should either be left outside of the classroom or turned to the silent mode.
  11. Do not surf or using the web during class time other than in the manner directed by classroom exercises.
  12. Notes or tapes of this course are not permitted for purposes of sale.
  13. Be honest and respectful of ideas, of people, and of their property.
  14. Raise your hand. If you want recognition to answer a question, raise your hand. This allows all students to participate in class and not just a vocal few.

EXPECTATIONS : to pass the course and receive a certificate, students are expected to complete the mid-term and final web-site projects.
